Depth gauge increments reflect drywall thickness and are designed to monitor depth of cuts. The piercing tips on each end initiate the cuts for a clean start, as well as adding push/pull cut capabilities. The shaver notches remove excess drywall if ran up and down along the cut while powered on. This allows the user to clean up their cut or shave off the most minimal drywall.
